Day 1

Travel through farmland of the Canterbury plains before travelling inland to the small farming township of Geraldine for morning tea. Leaving Geraldine and its rolling green valleys we continue inland as the road starts to climb and travel across the historic Burkes Pass. The view is breath taking as you descend toward Lake Tekapo. Visit the famous Church of the Good Shepherd on the foreshores of Lake Tekapo. Travel up the western side of Lake Pukaki at the foot of New Zealand's tallest mountain Mount Cook. Be mesmerised by the alpine surroundings of this truly unique region. On departing Mount Cook your journey takes you through rugged high country landscape of the Mackenzie Basin with its hydroelectric system of lakes and canals. We arrive at Omarama for afternoon tea. We now begin the ascent over the Lindis Pass into the historical gold mining region of Central Otago. Relax as you take in the spectacular scenery that changes from rugged ranges and mirror lakes to the winding Kawerau River Gorge, before arriving at your destination of Queenstown.

Day 2 - Milford Sound Day Tour

Depart Queenstown and travel along the edge of Lake Wakatipu beneath the rugged Remarkables Mountain Range on the road to Te Anau, "Gateway to Fiorldland" After morning tea we enter Fiordland National Park and see the grandeur of this region. As you pass through the Eglinton Valley you will see alpine beach forrest, stunning waterfalls, and the famous Mirror Lakes. (opportunity of photos to be taken).From here we progress through the Upper Holyford Valley past the stunning Christie Falls and enter the 1.2km long Homer Tunnel. As you exit the Homer Tunnel see the breath taking view of the Cleddau Valley as you descend into Milford Sound. Here you will take a spectacular Milford Sound Cruise will you will see the wonders of Mitre Peak, glacier scarred rock walls that rise vertically from the sea, see the waterfalls the rush down the hanging valleys into the sound below. After your cruise reboard your coach for the return journey to Queenstown.

Day 4 - Queenstown to Franz Josef

Leave Queenstown behind as you depart through the Kawerau River Gorge and head towards the township of Wanaka. Travel along the shores of Lakes Wanaka and Hawea to the Haast Pass, the most stunning highway in New Zealand and the gateway to World Heritage Westland National Park. Your Journey continues up the West Coast past spectacular mountain ranges, native forest, and lakes to the Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers. Experience the timelessness of this region and imposing spectacle of these ancient "rivers of ice" before continuing on to your destination of the Franz Josef Glacier Village.

Day 5 - Franz Josef to Christchurch

After departing Franz Josef your journey takes you along the rugged West Coast until the first stop in Pekekura at the Bushman's Centre. Here you will discover what the West Coast life is like. We then come to a town called Hokitika, a town well known for its arts and crafts before visiting Shantytown, the reconstruction of a Westland Gold Rush Town. Here you can enjoy such activities of gold panning and a short train ride. From Shanty Town you will travel to Greymouth. In Greymouth you board the world renowned Tranzalpine train to Christchurch. Better known as one of the best Train Journeys in the World. Pass through tunnels, over viaducts and along river gorges to the rainforests of the snow capped Southern Alps before descending onto the Canterbury Plains. We then travel through major sheep farming and cropping region before arriving to your destination of Christchurch.

Day 1

This fantastic tour of the Bay of Islands takes you over the Harbour Bridge as you head through the northern suburbs of Auckland with the beach side homes of the Hibiscus Coast to the east and the bush covered Waitakere Ranges out to the west. Discover the magnificent size of New Zealand's protected native Kauri trees at the Parry Karui Park before continuing on and taking a short morning tea break in the small settlement of Kaiwaka. Then it's time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the comfort of your luxury coach as you journey through the spectacular scenery of native forests, sub-tropical bush and patchwork patterend fields. Day 2

An early start takes you through Kauri Forests, along Nintey Mile Beach past giant sand hills and quicksand to the northern most tip of New Zealand. Pinic lunch included. Visit the Wagener museum before returning to Paihia late in the afternoon.

Day 3

This morning, enjoy a cruise to Cape Brett and Piercy Island and travel through the famous Hole in the Rock (weather permitting). On the way back call into Russell to enjoy the sights of this Historic Village before boarding the ferry back to Paihia. Rejoin the coach for your return journey to Auckland.
