Mount Cook/Aoraki

Experience the heart of New Zealand – Aoraki Mt Cook, Australasia’s highest mountain. Travel over the Canterbury Plains and up into the grasslands of the McKenzie Basin where we will stop at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Lake Tekapo. Morning tea in Tekapo Village is followed by a visit to New Zealand’s largest freshwater Salmon Farm where you can view and feed the salmon. Next is Lake Pukaki, Mount Cook, and the World Heritage Park. Lunch (optional) will be at The Hermitage, after which you can climb the Tasman Glacier, take an Eco tour of the glacial lake by boat (optional), or an Alpine flight over the mountains and glaciers (optional). Or simply enjoy the breathtaking scenery of Mt Cook. A stop will be made for late afternoon tea at a country café on your return journey.
